LG announces Cookie Ultima, Pop & WiFi

LG today showcased three new additional handsets in their popular Cookie line — the Cookie WiFi, Cookie Ultima and the Cookie Pop.

cookie ultima

The LG Cookie Ultima (LG GT505) has a 3-inch screen (240×400 pixels), 5-megapixel camera, WiFi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.1, 3G/HSDPA 3.6Mbps, GPS and stereo FM tuner. The Cookie Ultima is now out with a retail price of Php10,990.

cookie wifi

The LG Cookie WiFi (LG KM555) has the same screen size and resolution as the Cookie Ultima and also has WiFi 802.11 b/g, FM tuner and Bluetooth but no 3G (just EDGE) nor GPS. The Cookie WiFi will retail for Php7,990.

cookie pop

Lastly, the LG Cookie Pop (LG GD510) is the smallest and most compact among the Cookie series. It’s got no WiFi or 3G connectivity (just EDGE) and just Bluetooth and stereo FM tuner. The COokie Pop will retail for Php9,990.

Among the three handsets though, the Cookie Pop got my attention when LG said it comes with an (optional) solar panel at the back for battery charging. Now that’s got to be the first handset to have that feature available here in the Philippines.

I didn’t have much face time with the units since we spend most of the night watching Iron Man 2 which they showed during the event at My Cinema, GB3 (did anyone see the Thor teaser at the end?).

  1. All of these phones looks nice. I’ll be waiting for your full review sir before which phones suits me.

  2. I saw the Thor teaser. Cool.

    Interesting, a solar charger.

  3. I think LG is coming up with pretty interesting phones nowadays. If I remember it right, LG was using Ericsson operating system way back during the time of black and white screens. I wonder if they developed their own OS by now.

  4. LG is fighting a good competition with Samsung. I have seen LG Pop since last year on other countries. LG mobile phones are pretty promising.

    Its like
Samsung Star or Marvel vs LG Cookie Pop
Samsung Star Wi-Fi vs LG Cookie Wi-Fi
Samsung Monte vs LG Cookie Ultima

I suggest Mr. Abe Olandres should make a head to head review of these phones in the coming months.

But I will rather stick with Samsung phones. I am planning to buy Samsung Monte hopefully in 2 to 3 months.

  5. I also saw the Thor teaser last night. I watched Iron Man 2 at Greebelt 3.

  6. Definitely the promising phone and affordable phone for this year.

  7. I also watched Iron Man 2 until the credits rolled on. The last scene showed the Mjolnir in this weird crater like landscape.

As for the LG phones.. They look good and are most of the time affordable.. But their app store sucks, sorry to say.

  8. for me the LG Cookie Ultima is one of the best bang for the buck phones ever released here in the Philippines, it has a 5 mega pixel camera, WiFi, 3G and GPS! grabe nanghinayang ako nung binili ko yung Sony Ericsson C510 ko last year for almost the same price! Sana they will also bring the GB280 aka The Lady GaGa phone!!! :D

  9. seems that price of cmkcellphones for cookie pop and cookie wifi was interchanged.

  10. @marco – COOKIE WI-FI SRP is PhP7,990, while PhP9,990 for COOKIE POP

  11. @linalinalyn

then maybe the price on this review has been interchanged :) thanks

  12. why is the price of cookie pop higher compared to cookie wifi? whereas cookie pop is just a basic phone…

  13. It’s supposedly a good phones but they do not have a 3.5mm jack.

  14. sir yuga, most of the camera phones today only specifies the picture resolution, but these camera phones are also capable of taking videos, so why doesn’t they also specify what video resolution their phones are capable of? like these phones from LG, even from using google, I still cannot find information for its video camera resolution. thank you.

  15. that’s good kind of phone!
i considered lg km555 wifi as one of my favorite amiong the three so i already purchased that phone last may 18, 2010
