First unveiled as early as February of this year, the LG GD900 Crystal is a slider touchscreen phone with a transparent keypad. We received one this week from LG Philippines. See the unboxed photos after the jump.

ok naman si paul..kanya kanya opinion yan.. :) kung anu gusto nya gow!!!! no need mag-react masyado… kay kuya pusong kulog easy easy…both phones are good..and kuya reich hndi naman sa too lazy to use laptop or desktop..siguro u people need it lalo na sa mga busy person..have a friend mahilig magtravel dahil sa work na din nya and he’s looking for a phone na easy access tlga hndi dahil sa tamad na kahit nagtratravel sya i mean easy as in easy to carry na kahit sa bulsa ng pants or coat nya madali na lng sa kanya lahat…hindi sa tamad..hihih busy lang…we dont know paul much kya easy lng kayo mga kuyas..

First of all, this a review of the featured phone to help people know if they shall buy this phone or not. This blog is not to review yourself on what you geek people can do and what kind of people you are. In short, this is not about you so stop bragging yourself that you are a geek that can cook roms because we average people dont really care. Lg has come up with Lg GD900 the latter stands out for its 8 Mega pixels Camera and especially its transparent sliding keyboard which it derives its name for. Crystal enjoys the latest technology in mobile telephony, but not necessarily exploited optimally. The phone’s design plays on transparency, with gray shades and finally pure black color which derives it to a very simple product. The finishes are more than correct, with small buttons and mechanisms of aluminum, enhancing the look a bit classy and solid.
The sliding keyboard leaves no signs of disrespect and which is very pleasing to the opening and closing. At the opening, it glows gently revealing the laser-etched keys. Using smileys doesn’t give you an excuse to be impolite and it didn’t hide the impoliteness of your response.

There is also no need to grandstand how much of a geek you are or how experienced you are in cooking roms just to impose your opinions here.

My current phone still runs on java apps and I’m pretty cool with what it does for me. It’s all that I need for now. And for the majority of the users who are still using a non-WinMo OS, you went overboard by tagging us as the “idiotic mainstream who doesn’t know how to use technology”.

You are indirectly telling the readers here that you and your kind are superior… and that to me is impolite.

I think you need an etiquette lesson, since I answered your questions politely and even used a smiley to connote joviality, there was no need to go with such personal attacks. However, lets play that game shall we? I always enjoy it.

1) You criticize my English grammar? Let me ask you a simple question then, do you have any clue in that tiny brain of yours know how ellipsis work? For you of the slow mind, ellipsis are the “…” you are using in total ignorance. I made a spelling mistake, you show your complete lack of class and education my mangling the English language. You are a joke.

2) How dumb are you? I ask because you seem to not know how to do simple math. 2 weeks from today is… (that is a proper use of ellipsis, you are welcome for the free lesson to augment your piss poor education). Let me do the math for you, you dumb schmuck. Its October 6th.

3) You clearly also did not learn how to read English correctly with your poor education.

even if they remove or downgrade 80% of this phones features, many will still buy it because of its style.

It’s you who misunderstood me… And I am not looking for another firmware… Am just wishing you luck for whatever you are wanting from your device… Seems to me that firmware is a good place to start as it is one of the most common areas where WinMo users get hooked up…

As for the price thing, haven’t you noticed that the price you’ve quoted is an Ebay price quotation and not what this LG phone will really cost once it get mainstream?

Good for you that you can cook wares… Could you really cook wares? I doubt it when you couldn’t even understand when to use “understood” instead of “understand.”

But then again, cooking wares doesn’t make you special and that doesn’t give you the right to be somehow demanding of what this blog should write about.

Apparently, a lot of readers here doesn’t care about your WinMo device. It’s the reason Nokia and iPhone have much better sales than WinMo. It’s also the reason this site is blogging more about LG handsets and the likes.

If you can see the comments posted above, you will have the idea that what I’m saying is true. And if you think this site is not as geeky as you would want it to be, why not look for other sites that will feed the naive geek that is in you?

I understand that your Acer F1 is going to be release on Oct. 6 worlwide, which makes me think as to how have you placed an order before the release date? I also wonder as to how much shipping are you paying just to have this device? Man, talk about prices…

Here’s somethings I don’t like with WinMo devices:
1) Price
2) Number of service centers when TSHF
3) The time element in after sales services when at last you’ve found someone who’ll fix the crap your very proud of.
3) Battery life when in full action mode…
4) Reinstalling the whole OS and loosing any non backed up information just because your battery is empty…

WinMos may be a fairly good tool for mobile computing… But I’ll never want it as a phone.

And sorry for the long comment…

@Pusang Kulog: Sorry you misunderstand me. I am not saying WM is the only thing, but I am saying we geek want more than lame java phones.

As for your problems, do you know XDA devlopers? You can find any rom that works for what you wish to do with your mobile. I am a rom cooker myself and have released a half dozen roms. If you can’t find one that works for you, you need to look harder. I find it impossible you can’t find a rom that works for you, but if that is the case, COOK YOUR OWN rom and stop complaining. ;)

As for the price, this feature phone is almost 30k. You tell me that is cheap? I am sorry but that is not cheap. So your point doesn’t make sense.

On WM, the high price is also sadly the state of things when there is a temporary monopoly. But HTCs monopoly is ending. I just got an Acer F1 for 25k shipped to arrive in 2 weeks. Its 10x better than this feature phone in terms of features. So you tell me, is price an issue?

I’m a Windows Mobile user but I think you are overly reacting to the posted materials here in Yugatech. Windows Mobile is not the only “tech thing” out there… It may also be superb in some things but not in all things. For one thing… the price sucks…

Also, I hope you can think that not all the readers of yugatech are like you… People who visit this site have a wide range of interests. Ang yugatech is just trying to give to everybody, one thing at a time, what they want and need to know. And that to me is one of the major reasons why there are blogs…

Good luck on finding the next best firmware for your Windows Mobile unit… That is if you are really a geeky person as you have said… I myself has changed my units firmware for four times now, though I’m not under the impression that I am really a geeky person… Just so happen that I love tweaking and doing strange stuffs with my WinMo unit..
