LG GW990 powered by Intel and Moblin

Listen to article

The LG GW990 is one big-ass mobile internet device powered by Intel’s Moorestown platform and the new Moblin OS. Think of a bigger iPod Touch that can connect to 3G and do 3D games plus 720p HD movies.

More details, including pricing, about this MID will come out before June 2010. Nice form factor, great processing power and promising OS — very eager to get my hands on this one.

Interesting as a device but as a 5-inch phone? Don’t think so. Wouldn’t be surprised if LG or even Samsung came out with a slim pocket LCD!

@niel – yup, bigger by 0.8″

@luiboowee – there’s already an iPod Touch with 3D/HSDPA. It’s called the iPhone 3GS. :D

It’s not a cellphone, am I right?

I’m hoping for iPod Touch to have HSDPA/3G technology.

@RJ

MID stands for Mobile Internet Device. It’s not a cellphone, I guess. This will compete head to head with Apple’s iPod Touch.

this is taking the expression “size matters” to a higher level. grabe laki ng screen size nya. i think around mga $300-$400 yan. and i think if pareho sya ng specs ng ipod touch, viable market din to for digitally distributed games. ang laki lang nya talaga.
