Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition launches in China

Meizu has annnounced that the MX4 Ubuntu Edition smartphone is now available for developers in China.

The Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition sports similar specs as the original MX4. The only difference is that instead of Android, it is powered by Canonical’s Ubuntu for Phones. It also has its own app store called the Ubuntu Store.

The Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition is available in White and Gold colors and is on sale directly from Meizu’s website starting at 1,799 Yuan or almost Php13,000.

the starts of something new. sana mas ok to kesa android and windows, i’d love to try ubuntu on phone since my desktop is already in ubuntu.

I have been a Linux user for more than 12 years (probably 9 years in Ubuntu).

Do not get too excited and expect much for this phone. I like though.

linux user ako for so many years now with my laptop that Im not familiar anymore with windows desktop. So good to see ubuntu in a more mainstream phone. Hope to see it in pinas soon and I will be queueing to buy a ubuntu phone for sure

tol curious lang, ang ubuntu ba sa PC command line lang? hindi sya GUI? Or parang win and red hat sya na GUI din? Pwede din ba tumakbo ang mga PC based games like blizzard games?
