Motorola Moto Edge 30 Pro Hands-on

Motorola Philippines will soon launch in the Philippines its latest flagship smartphone, the Moto Edge 30 Pro, sporting a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, 50MP triple-rear cameras, 60MP front camera, and 4,800mAh battery. We finally got our hands on one so check out our initial thoughts as well as its full specs and price below.

The Moto Edge 30 Pro is a pretty tall device at 163 mm and chunky at 8.79 mm, which can be attributed to the large screen and big battery. It’s still easy to grip at 75.9 mm, cool to the touch and feels very premium with an IP52 rating for dust and water resistance. It also has a decent heft at 196 g.

The front houses the 6.7-inch OLED screen with a punch hole at the top for the 60MP selfie camera. Protecting the screen is Gorilla Glass 3. Placed above the screen are the earpiece and loudspeaker.

The device features an aluminum frame with a glossy metallic finish. Placed on the right side are the volume buttons and the power/lock button which also serves as the fingerprint scanner. The button feels good, although placed at the upper part of the frame so you need to stretch out your fingers just to reach it.

Up top, we have the secondary microphone.

Down below is the SIM card tray for two nano-sized SIM cards, a USB-C port, the main microphone, and a loudspeaker.

Flip it on its back and you will see the camera module that houses three cameras, consisting of the 50MP main, 50MP ultra-wide, and 2MP depth, and the LED flash.

The back panel is my favorite part of the Moto Edge 30 Pro. It uses Gorilla Glass 5 with a frosted finish. The result is a very smooth, powdery texture that hides smudges and fingerprints well. The unit that we have sports the Cosmos Blue color which exudes a glowing light effect of blue and green.

Powering the Moto Edge 30 Pro is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset with an octa-core CPU clocked at 3.0GHz, an Adreno 730 GPU, 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1, Android 12, and a 4,800mAh battery with 68W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and 5W wireless power sharing. We ran AnTuTu v9 and it got a score of 986,370. We’ll know more about its performance in our full review, so stay tuned.

The Moto Edge 30 Pro is priced at PHP 34,995USD 596INR 50,554EUR 568CNY 4,343 and will be available in the Motorola PH Store in Lazada and Shopee and from Motorola kiosk at SM Megamall and SM North EDSA. It will also be available in select authorized mobile resellers nationwide.
