Not to be out-done, Nokia Philippines also has their own 60% off one-day promo for the new Nokia C6. Guess when? It’s November 13, 2010 at 1 to 3PM. See poster below.
On November 13, 2010 at 1pm to 3pm, participating stores will sell the Nokia C6 at 60% off. That’s from an SRP of Php15,100 down to just Php6,490.
Stores include Nokia Stores in SM Megamall, SM North EDSA, SM Cebu and Gaisano Davo City.
This is obviously a targeted response to the LG Optimus One 50% Promo Sale.
Update: The 60% discount of Php15,100 is actually Php6,040, not the Php6,490 that’s shown on the poster (it’s 57.02% discount). I clarified this with Nokia PR and they said that DTI was the one who approved it and it’s possible that a 12% VAT was applied after the 60% discount. If that’s the case though, it should have been Php6,040 + 12% VAT which is Php6,764.80.
My guess is that Nokia wanted to match the sale price of LG Optimus One at Php6,490. The applied discount on the C6 was actually 57.02% but it would not look good from a marketing perspective so they just rounded it off to 60%.
