Nokia Lumia Amber software update rolling out

Nokia has started rolling out the Lumia Amber software update for Lumia smartphones running Windows Phone 8.

The Nokia Lumia Amber update brings improvements, bug-fixes, and new features like the Nokia Smart Camera, Nokia Pro Camera (Lumia 920, 925), Nokia Glance Screen, Flip to silence, double-tap to unlock, Storage Check, Data Sense for data usage management, faster map updates, and improved image processing.

The rollout starts first with the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 in selected countries. As usual, exact delivery timings will vary by region, phone and operator. We checked the update availability for the Philippines and so far most are still waiting for approval.

However, Nokia expects the update to reach your Lumia 520, Lumia 620, Lumia 720, Lumia 820 or Lumia 920 by the end of September.

Is amber update only applicable to handsets that are in postpaid? How about in prepaid like us?

You can manually update the firmware using a Polish ROM..(google)

Got mine about a week ago… works great so far

except nokia pro camera…hindi pa po sya kasama sa release…base sa Windowscental at nokiaconversation …magiging available lang ang nokia pro camera after the release of lumia 1020 :D

What if i set US in country settings, do i still get an update? I read that if your date and time settings is wrong, you will never get an aupdate.

I got the update on my 920 this morning… all the improvements included.. the Nokia pro camera app becomes available on the windows app after the update and it’s a great camera app.

And I thought unlocked and unbranded models are getting the update first. Don’t get why it’s taking too long when it doesn’t have to pass through carriers.

It’s already August 19 and no updates yet. :(

I’m using a SMART Buddy Sim though. Are postpaid plans a priority on this Amber update?

September na, wla paring update Sa Nokia 820 ko .. Globe Postpaid .. Ilang buwan pa BA kailangang maghintay??? Baka abutin pa ng Christmas, wala parin ..
