Expect to get a model refresh from Nokia every 6 months or so. Up next is the Nokia N85 slider phone (upgrade to the Nokia N81) and the Nokia N79 which is a minor update to the Nokia N78.
The Nokia N85 is a slider, N-Gage specific phone with 5MP Tessar-Zeiss camera and GPS as well as WiFi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth and 3G/HSDPA connectivity {via}.
This gaming phone has a 2.6-inch QVGA (240 x 320 pixels, AM OLED) display which can orient horizontally when used for N-Gage mode. Comes with an 8GB microSD card with option to upgrade to 16GB later. This model can playback music up to 24 hours.
On the other hand, the Nokia N79 is just a minor upgrade to the 6-month old Nokia N78 which first came out in February of this year.
It now comes with a 5-megapixel camera (Carl-Zeiss optics) and a dual-LED flash. Comes with a 4GB microSD card and battery lasts 28 hours on music playback.
It also has that nifty FM Transmitter to broadcast your music to other FM radio devices or speakers. I just hope they fixed the problem with the audio quality I mentioned to the Nokia N78 Product Manager in our last chat.
