We got this dummy unit of the Nokia N9 shipped from Shenzen yesterday. It’s just a replica and doesn’t really come close to the real thing (seen it up close during the launch event in Singapore).
The dummy unit will eventually end up with stores that are looking to sell the real Nokia N9 once it becomes available. The materials on this one isn’t good and all made of plastic, including the display. What’s interesting though is that they added an LED light inside so that when you press the power button, the display lights up for a couple of seconds.
Speaking of the real thing — in a briefing with the media yesterday, Nokia Philippines showed a preview of the Symbian Belle along with the new Nokia 700 and the Nokia 701.
The question regarding the release of the Nokia N9 in the Philippines obviously came up and company reps assured that it will be out by 4th quarter of this year. That means as early as October or as late as December.
As for the pricing, a Nokia rep back in June indicated in one of the interviews after the event that the Nokia N9 will have a suggested retail price of $660PHP 38,732INR 55,935EUR 629CNY 4,804 (Php29k) for the 16GB and $749PHP 43,955INR 63,478EUR 713CNY 5,451 (Php33k) for the 64GB.

Kikokix says:
Too expensive. I was expecting the price range of 23k-25k.

NOKIA is dead and we should bury them. The only phone that I would buy from them if the necessity arises is the C2-00 dual sim phone I hope though that they will be born again by WINDOWS 8

Just assume that the price will worth it.

29k? For a phone that is inferior to the Galaxy S2 in both hardware and OS, that is a very steep price.
Sixel says:
Nokia should just dump its OS and go for the Android. They have great hardware and build quality but their OS just sucks.
But this phone is rather expensive.I’m waiting for this but I’d better go with the Samsung GS2.
francis says:
Inferior na nga nag hardware, or rather components ng N9 since last year technology pa un. Galaxy S2, better screen, better processor and GPU.
Yun nga lang uber lame ng android since need pa nya ng ganun kataas na specs to run that well.
Sobrang mahal na lang talaga nito sa 33k for 64gb considering na walang sd card slot to, much needed ang bigger storage capacity
Travis says:
hahaha. . .sure ka na mas maganda ang screen ng sgs2 sa N9? Try to check out the reviews of N9 from Engadget atbp, they said it rivals the sgs2’s screee, tsaka N9 screen is way, way better than the sgs2 screen indoor and direct sunlight. That’s d power of anti-glare polarizer. Hope it helps. I can post the links right to those reviews if you want proof though :D
