The OnePlus 5T is packed with powerful internals but it is unable to stream contents on Netflix, Google Play Movies, Amazon Prime, and other video services in HD– as seen from a thread in OnePlus forums.

The OnePlus 5T, as well as the OnePlus 5, lack support for Widevine Level 1 DRM which is required for devices to be able to stream HD contents. Both of the aforementioned devices currently support Widevine Level 3 which only stream in Standard Definition (SD).
A company spokesperson from OnePlus said that a future update will include Widevine Level 1 DRM but didn’t state why the said component isn’t present from the day the OnePlus devices were built. The spokesperson also didn’t disclose when the said update will arrive.
