OPPO Philippines has released their newest member of the A-series, the OPPO A55 4G. It features a 6.51-inch IPS display, MediaTek Helio G35 processor, triple rear-camera configuration, and a 5,000mAh battery. If you’re curious about this phone, just keep on reading.
The OPPO A55 is a thin and lightweight device. At the back, there’s the triple camera module along with the LED flash. The back panel is made of polycarbonate and the middle frame includes a matte 3D curved design, which makes it a comfortable grip and easy to hold compared to its predecessors.
The unit we have is in this Rainbow Blue color, which looks stunning. However, it has a glossy finish, which means it’s a huge fingerprint and smudge magnet, so better use the clear case included in the package. The OPPO A55 is also available in Starry Black colorway if you’re interested.
When it comes to its display, it sports a large 6.51-inch IPS LCD with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The bezels are thin but more noticeable at the bottom. It’s still a pretty immersive display. There’s no mention of any special glass protection but it has a screen protector pre-installed.
So far we love the display as it is bright and vibrant, it didn’t also have any issues being clear under the direct sunlight.
It’s got a huge punch-hole on the upper left for the 16MP selfie camera. Found at the top of the display by the bezel is the earpiece.
The OPPO A55 has some well-placed buttons. To the left-hand side are the volume controls and a triple-card tray for two nano-sized SIM cards and a microSD card.
While the right side has the power/unlock button, which also doubles as a fingerprint sensor. The plastic buttons are firm and clicky. It’s also easily reachable even with our small hands since it’s placed near the middle of the frame.
Down at the bottom, there’s the main microphone, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port, and the loudspeaker.
For the cameras, the main shooter utilizes a 50MP main camera, 2MP for macro, and 2MP one for sensing depth. We’ll talk more about the cameras in our review so for now, check out some sample shots that we got.
Powering the OPPO A55 is a Helio G35 chipset with an IMG GE8320 GPU, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. Running the software is ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11. For mobile data, it has 4G LTE. We’ll know more about this device once we’re done with our review, so stay tuned for that.

Even with a 50 mp camera those pictures are just plain bad. My iphone 6s from 2015 shoots better photos. The helio p35’s image processing is just mediocre.
