OPPO officially launches 125W flash charge, 65W AirVOOC, 50W mini SuperVOOC

Smartphone brand OPPO introduces three latest charging technologies: 125W flash charge, 65W AirVOOC, and 50W mini SuperVOOC.

Dubbed as the most advanced flash charging technology in the industry, the 125W flash charge fully charges a 4000mAh battery as fast as 20 minutes. The latest wired charging innovation can fill up the battery to 41% in just 5 minutes, supports previous SuperVOOC and VOOC flash charge, and other mainstream protocols including 65W PD and 125W PPS, and features a charging scheme of up to 20V 6.25A. For protection, it features 10 additional temperature sensors that monitor the charging status of the battery.

Meanwhile, the 65W AirVOOC adopts isolated charge pump technology and parallel dual-coil design for boosting the efficiency of wireless charging. It refills a 4000mAh battery from 0% to 100% in 30 minutes, features five-fold safety protection measures, foreign object detection, and is compatible with the Qi standard.  To keep the smartphone from overheating, a conceptual 65W AirVOOC wireless flash charger was showcased in the launch which has a semiconductor cooler at the bottom.

Last in the list is the 50W mini SuperVOOC charger and 110W mini flash charger. The former is compact and lightweight at 1.05cm,  compatible with VOOC protocols, supports mainstream protocols like 27W PD and 50W PPS, and can charge a various devices including laptops. Replacing the traditional transformers are aviation-grade high power clamping diodes and GaN high-frequency switch.

Meanwhile, the latter is built upon the combination of laminate and compact structures which minimizes its size to just 35.76 cm.

OPPO did not reveal which smartphones will adopt the said technologies but it is safe to say that we’ll be seeing it on some of the brand’s upcoming devices soon.
