Samsung has released their new mid-range level mobile processor called the Exynos 1280 which can be seen in the newly released Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53.
The Exynos 1280 was built using the 5nm EUV technology and features an octa-core CPU that consists of two powerful Arm Cortex-A78 cores and six power-efficient Cortex-A55. It is partnered with Valhall-based Arm Mali-G68 GPU. The GPU has been optimized with Fused Multiply-Add (FMA) which offers better power consumption and battery life. The Exynos 1280 also has an advanced neural network engine that can support a wide range of intelligent services like scene segmentation, real-time motion analysis, multi-object surveillance and more.
The chipset also supports FHD+ displays with up to 120Hz refresh rate, LPDDR4x RAM standard, UFS v2.2, up to three camera sensors that can support up to 16MP with zero shutter lag, up to 108MP single camera 4K video recording at 30 fps. In terms of connectivity, the processor has an integrated 5G modem that works with mmWave and sub-6GHz standards (up to 2.55Gbps). It also features WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2.
