Samsung Focus S announced, heading to AT&T first

AT&T just announced a number of new Windows Phone 7 (Mango) smartphones in its line-up. Among them is a 4.3-incher, Super AMOLED Plus Samsung Focus S.

The weird thing is, AT&T nor Samsung has not released any actual photos or rendering of the handset so we’re not sure if it will also look like the old Samsung Focus shown below {via AT&T}.

Samsung Focus S
4.3″ Super AMOLED Plus display
16GB or 32GB internal storage
1.4GHz single-core processor
HSDPA 14.4Mbps, HSUPA 5.6Mbps
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 3.0
8MP autofocus rear camera
1.3MP front-facing camera
GPS w/ aGPS support
Windows Phone 7.5 Mango

The handset might have a hard time reaching the Philippines since WP7 handsets don’t sell really well here (that’s basing on the late and often silent release here of previous models). We’re not even sure if the old Samsung Focus was even released locally (I think not).

@L-man: You sure? I can only agree to your argument on the depth of android.

WP7 has its merits, such as skydrive + MSoffice integration, and general reliability. sadly, it just doesn’t have the panache and depth of android or the finesse of ios. but anyway, if this phone sells for 9.9k (which it won’t hehe) i might consider it. for that goddess of a screen…
