Both the Galaxy A8 and the Huawei G8 are positioned by the respective vendors as mid-range contenders with premium build quality at a lower price point compared to the respective flagship devices.
The Galaxy A8 is Samsung attempt to bring the same design and craftsmanship as the Galaxy S series but with a more conservative hardware configuration at only 70% of the suggested retail price of the flagship handsets.
Huawei also did the same with the G series. Once a low-cost mid-range series, Huawei is changing the positioning of the G8 with a more premium build and moderately strong hardware configuration.
