Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) to receive Android Pie update

The Samsung Galaxy J5 2017 is set to receive the Android 9 Pie software update after receiving the Android 8 Oreo last August 2018.

Reports state that the Galaxy J5 2017, along with the Galaxy J5 Pro 2017, received certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance which updates the devices’ operating system to Android 9 Pie.

Upgrading to Android 9 Pie is one of Samsung’s biggest updates as this brings the devices the company’s latest user interface — OneUI. The company has yet to announce the release date of the software update so stay tuned.
