The market for 5G smartphones grows larger and larger. Samsung’s latest smartphones— the Galaxy M52 5G and Galaxy A52s 5G are both powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G. Plus, both also come with a 120Hz FHD+ display with sAMOLED+ and sAMOLED, respectively.
On the flip side, realme has also recently unveiled the realme GT Master Edition equipped with the same processor and other similar specs. But, which among these smartphones will triumph in a specs comparison? Let’s see.

Display
All these smartphones sport large FHD+ (2400 x 1080) screens above 6-inches. The Samsung Galaxy M52 5G comes the largest at 6.7-inch. The Galaxy A52s 5G, however, has a slightly larger screen size at 6.5-inch against the realme GT Master Edition at 6.43-inch.
Moreover, the Galaxy M52 5G is also equipped with a more advanced Super AMOLED+ panel, while the Galaxy A52s 5G and realme GT Master Edition both sport a Super AMOLED display. Super AMOLED Plus is an upgrade to Super AMOLED. Hence, a Super AMOLED Plus display is thinner, brighter, and uses 18% less energy than the older Super AMOLED display.
They all have high refresh rates topping at 120Hz. However, the realme GT Master Edition takes advantage of having a 360Hz touch sampling rate, which provides better touch responsiveness when playing games.
CPU and GPU
Powering these smartphones is the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G CPU and Adreno 642L GPU, so we can expect the same level of performance on these devices. However, do note that we can only determine the extent of their performance and thermals once we have these units for review.
RAM and Storage
The Samsung Galaxy M52 5G only comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, whereas both Galaxy A52s 5G and realme GT Master Edition come with a larger 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
Nonetheless, both Samsung devices take the benefit of expandable storage up to 1TB via microSD.
Cameras
For the camera department, the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G comes with quad rear cameras consisting of 64MP (main), 12MP (ultrawide), 5MP (macro), and 5MP (depth) sensors.
On the flip side, both Galaxy M52 5G and realme GT Master Edition feature triple rear cameras with a 64MP main shooter. However, the Galaxy M52 5G has a higher resolution 12MP (ultrawide) and 5MP (macro) sensors than the realme GT Master Edition’s 8MP and 2MP, respectively.
The Galaxy A52s 5G benefits from an added depth sensor, while both Samsung devices have a higher resolution ultrawide and macro sensors.
Meanwhile, all these smartphones are expected to deliver higher quality photos with their 32MP front camera for selfies.
Connectivity & Other Features
As for connectivity, the three are powered with the same specs, such as 5G connectivity, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax (WiFi 6), SatNavs, NFC, and dual-SIM.
The Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G and realme GT Master Edition come with Bluetooth 5.2, while the Galaxy M52 5G has Bluetooth 5.0. Bluetooth 5.2 offers faster pairing capabilities at lower power.
For security, the Samsung Galaxy M52 has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, while both Galaxy A52s 5G and realme GT Master Edition support in-display.
Further, all these smartphones come with a USB Type-C port. However, what’s missing on the Galaxy M52 5G is the 3.5mm audio jack for wired audio peripherals. This wouldn’t be a problem, though, if the Galaxy M52 5G’s package would come with a USB-C to 3.5mm audio jack adapter.
In terms of audio, the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G comes with dual stereo speakers powered by Dolby Atmos, while the realme GT Master Edition has ultra-linear speakers and Hi-Res Audio certification. However, the Galaxy M52 5G only has Dolby Atmos support when using stereo headphones and BT speakers.
It’s also a plus for the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G that it secures IP67 water and dust resistance, so the smartphone stands up to 1.0 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.
Battery
The Samsung Galaxy M52 5G comes with the largest battery capacity at 5,000mAh. On the other hand, the Galaxy A52s 5G is equipped with a 4,500mAh battery. Both these Samsung devices have 25W fast charging. Although the realme GT Master Edition comes only with a 4,200mAh battery, it boasts a more powerful 65W charging, so it can replenish its juice way quicker.
Price
We can’t compare them all yet in terms of price as there’s no word yet about the local pricing of the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G.
However, the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G is priced at PHP 22,990 for the 8GB + 128GB, and PHP 24,990 for the 8GB + 256GB. The realme GT Master Edition comes more affordable at PHP 18,990 for the 8GB + 128GB and PHP 21,990 for the 8GB + 256GB.
Which one to get?
The Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G has a long list of advantages over the Galaxy M52 5G and realme GT Master Edition. It carries the benefits of a better set of cameras, expandable storage, Dolby Atmos, and IP67 water and dust resistance.
Nonetheless, the Galaxy A52s 5G and the realme GT Master Edition offer a larger RAM and storage option, an advanced Bluetooth 5.2, and a 3.5mm audio jack. However, despite being more affordable than the Galaxy A52s 5G, the realme GT Master Edition advances with its 360Hz touch sampling rate, Hi-Res Audio certification, and 65W fast charging— features that could also attract other users.
Lastly, the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G is still a good option, though, with its larger and advanced Super AMOLED Plus display, expandable storage, and massive battery capacity. Plus, it might also be more appealing if Samsung would price it competitively. After all, the more affordable one could also be a more attractive choice.
