Samsung still the number one smartphone brand in Q2 2016 — report

The numbers are in from the sales of smartphones in the second quarter of the year. It seems like Samsung is not going anywhere for now but on top according to the study report from Trendforce.

Samsung still leads the pack with the big chunk of 24.5% of shares with Apple trailing behind at 15.6%. While Samsung may still be number one, it saw a slight drop of 3.5%. Apple, on the other hands, grew very little by 0.6%. Other world brands include Huawei at 9.2%, OPPO at 5.6%, and LG at 5.4.

The overall volume production sits at almost 315 million units, up by 8.9 from the quarter before.
