Samsung unveils Galaxy Xcover 3 rugged smartphone

Samsung’s latest rugged mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy Xcover 3, has been unveiled, sporting a 4.5-inch display, quad-core CPU, LTE connectivity, and an IP67-certified body.

1.2GHz quad-core CPU

5 megapixel rear camera w/ LED flash
2 megapixel front camera
GPS, compass, altimeter
Android 4.4 KitKat (upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop)
IP67-certified (water-resistant, dust proof)
MIL-STD 810G-certified (shock resistant)
2200mAh battery
9.95mm thin


The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 is expected to make an appearance next week at CeBIT 2015. Pricing and availability are yet to be announced.

    For a phone that’s designed for outdoor/adventure use, the battery is a big letdown.

    I hope the battery is user replaceable.
