Smartphones with 12GB of RAM

Seems like smartphone manufacturers really like beefing up the hardware of their devices which is evident in its display tech, cameras, chipset, and storage capacity. And when it comes to memory, even 10GB of RAM is no longer enough. Here are the smartphones with 12GB of RAM.

Xiaomi Black Shark 2

Xiaomi’s Black Shark 2 wants to take mobile gaming to the next level by cramming it with features like a Snapdragon 855 chipset, 256GB UFS 2.1 storage, 4,000mAh battery, Direct Touch Multilayer Liquid Cooling, and a software feature called Ludicrous Mode to further boost the performance. It also comes with an 8GB LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB of storage, but if you think that isn’t enough, you can settle with the 12GB LPDDR4x.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus

Samsung released three variants of its flagship Galaxy S series, and the most powerful of the pack is the S10 Plus. Aside from the 6.3-inch WQHD+ display, Exynos 9820 chipset, 4,100mAh battery, and triple rear cameras, it is also offered with 1TB of storage and 12GB of RAM.

Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer

The Mi 9 Explorer was announced a couple of months back along with the Mi 9 and Mi 9 SE. The Explorer variant is special as it features a transparent back design. The rest is the same as the Mi 9 with a 6.39-inch screen, Snapdragon 855 chipset, triple rear cameras, dual-band GPS, and 3,300mAh battery. However, it is offered 256GB of storage with 12GB of RAM.

Vivo iQOO

Vivo’s iQOO brand has its sights on gamers and their first device doesn’t disappoint, sporting a 6.41-inch screen, Snapdragon 855 chipset, up to 256GB of storage, triple rear cameras, 4,000mAh battery, and vapor-liquid cooling. It comes in multiple RAM capacities – 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB.

Lenovo Z5 Pro GT

Lenovo announced the Z5 Pro GT in December 2018 and is one of the first devices to sport the Snapdragon 855 chipset. It a 6.39-inch screen, up to 12GB RAM, slide out front cameras, dual Sony rear cameras, in-display fingerprint scanner, IR Face Recognition, and up to 512GB of storage.

Samsung Galaxy Fold

Samsung’s foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Fold, gets a 12GB RAM treatment too. In fact, it doesn’t come with other configurations. Just 12GB LPDDR4X RAM with Snapdragon 855 chipset, beefy 512GB of storage, triple rear cameras, dual front cameras, 4,380mAh battery, and a display that can switch from 4.6-inch to a tablet-size 7.3-inch.

What do you guys think? Do we need 12GB of RAM in smartphones or this is just overkill? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
