Sony Xperia G rumored specs and photo

After Sony released the high-end Xperia Z1 Compact at CES last month, followed by the 6-inch T2 Ultra phablets, rumors are now spreading that the Japanese manufacturer is on its way to introducing their first midrange smartphone of the year called the Xperia G.

According to the source, the Xperia G’s display size will span 4.8 inches diagonally. There are currently no mentions regarding its screen resolution, but 1280 x 720 is a good bet for a midrange phone.

Below are the leaked specs (although still incomplete) for the Xperia G:

  • 4.8-inch display
  • LTE connectivity
  • 8-megapixel rear camera
  • 8GB built-in memory (with microSD slot)
  • 1GB RAM
  • no IP rating – meaning it has no protection from harmful external factors (water, dust, etc)

The Sony Xperia G will most likely be unveiled at the nearing MWC 2014 in Barcelona. Our team will be there to break the hottest news to you, so stay tuned!

  1. Unfortunately Sony hasnt yet gone up to 32GB on their flagships (Except Z1s for t-mobile) and they cant put 16GB in midrange when flagships are 16GB. Hope they rectify this in Xperia Sirus or they will see some declining flagship sales next quarter.

  2. What another G? Another gansta?

Seriously though, naiinis na ako sa naming ng mga phones ngayon. Hindi ko na maramdaman ang creativity… Pag naubos kaya ang letters isusunod na nila yung sa greek naman? hehe

    • Just wait for the release of “Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini Neo Hyperactive Intergalactic edition”!

I agree with you, buddy. The smartphone industry has ran out of innovation and the only thing they could do to move on is to endlessly bump the specs of their products.

Looks like the smartphone era is going to end sooner or later if this trend continues.

    • I too agree…
I also notice the looks of the phone…it seems like their design team don’t do much a difference either. Notice Samsung, or Sony, same with apple, all their phones looks the same, but just in different size and specs. Perhaps due to patent issues…

Well gone are the days of Nokia 5110s, Motorola Rokrs….
