Specs Comparison: Alcatel Flash Plus vs Flash Plus 2

Listen to article

The second iteration of Alcatel’s hit smartphone was just officially announced in the form of the Flash Plus 2. We now pit them side-by-side in this quick specs comparison to determine what has changed and what has been upgraded.

Advantages of Flash Plus 2:

  • Higher display resolution
  • Higher pixel density
  • Better processor
  • Better GPU
  • Bigger RAM
  • Double the storage
  • Bigger memory expansion
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Hi-Fi chip
  • Updated OS

Advantages of Flash Plus:

  • Higher resolution on front camera
  • Bigger battery

Specs that stayed the same:

  • Display size
  • Resolution on rear  camera
  • Dual-SIM
  • Connectivity

The new Flash Plus 2 indeed has beefier specs than its predecessor. It now has a fingerprint sensor, a Hi-Fi chip, and double the internals of the previous model. The older variant had a bit of advantage over the Flash Plus 2 in terms of front camera resolution and battery capacity. On the other hand, display size and a few other things remained the same.

With these in mind, are you interested in getting the new variant once it comes out?

Instead of:

Why not write the conclusion like this?

We know how much a great bang for buck the alcatel flash plus is when it launched, and sold well until it was discontinued. It was a great phone, with a great battery life, powerful processor, snappy performance, and a decent camera. Now that its successor has launched, offering double the internal storage, Full HD screen, a modern Helio P10 chipset, metal design, a HiFi audio chip, and a fingerprint sensor, but a lower resolution front camera and a lower capacity battery, will it emulate the success and popularity of the Flash Plus as a great budget android phone?

….bigger and higher resolution display for a smaller batt. That spells trouble. Unless it has fast charger included otherwise it’s not a good buy.

…and the price now of that is 5,500. So this new version is 3,5k more expensive.
