Starmobile Diamond D2: Largest smartphone at 6.8 inches

Starmobile also announced their biggest Android smartphone yet — the 6.8 inch Starmobile Diamond D2.

The handset may not be the best in class in terms of hardware specs but we certainly noticed the good design and materials used.

Here the most complete hardware configuration we’ve gotten from them.

Starmobile Diamond D2 specs:
6.8-inch LCD qHD display @ 960×540 pixels, 162ppi
Mediatek 1.2GHz dual-core processor
1GB RAM
4GB internal storage
3G, HSPA up to 7.2Mbps
dual-SIM, dual-standby, dual-3G
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 2.0
GPS
5MP rear camera with LED flash
VGA front-facing camera
Li-Ion 3,200mAh battery
Android 4.2 Jellybean

The Diamond D2 is definitely among the biggest phablet ever released locally, right up the alley of the Asus Fonepad.

The device uses a magnesium-aluminum alloy for the body, giving it a premium look yet still very durable at the same time. The matte finish and texture of the back panel reminds us of the iPad Mini.

Available in dark blue and silver, the Diamond D2 will retail for Php7,990 and should be available by 2nd week of December.

  1. Fail! Seriously?

    Dual core.
    Low res.
    Low battery for its size.

    8k?

    Walang innovation ang Starmobile

    • ung “seriously” dapat exclamation point hindi question mark hehehe. anyways oo nga sobrang nakakatakot when I read the specs on that price. kahit man lang sa local brands hindi nakikipag sabayan ang SM :3

  2. This is an abomination.

    1) NOT a tablet (stop it pls)
    2) Resolution fits circa 1901, not 2013.

    • tama grabe, napaka horrible hahaha. an ancient specs packed in a huge screen with a horrible screen size display and ppi in a Q4 of 2013? O M G starmobile gumising ka makiasabay ka naman kahit sa mga local brands man lang hahaha.

  3. What do you want from an 8k price tag? note 3 specs? seriously…..

    • r u seriously asking? W T F. kahit with the leading local brands walang wala ito sobrang ancient and horrible ng specs with that 8k price? seriously? -_-. dude walang hustisya to hahaha. pero kung bet mo parin hala go iwaldas mo pera dito total mayaman ka naman “siguro”.

  4. kakabili ko lang ng Diamond D1 nung isang araw, and i’m very satisfied with it. Same price lang sila pero mukhang lamang ang D1 on every aspect except the screen size, that is of course if you want a big screen. my sibling says that my D1 is big but this D2 is too much bigger that even i don’t want it.

  6. Are they even trying anymore? Or basta masabi lang na may mailabas lang sila bagong phone

  7. Wag na kaung umanggal. 50 pcs lang inorder ng SM. pamparaffle nla sa mga employees nla this december. hehe

  8. Largest ba ito? With basically the same design, di ba largest would be Samsung’s 7inch phablets which they are producing for 3 years now.

It can be argued as well that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is the biggest phablet there is.

  9. Not worth buying. Hindi man lang quad core. But the battery size is good. Good for a large screen monster like this. Thl w300 is pricey but more adviceble than this. Cherry mobile will release a more advance smartphone in this price range

  10. Sana man lamang 720p or 600p yung resolution… LOL

  11. mas mganda ung cm omega xl d2 for the price..

    • ka presyo nung thl w7s pero mas mganda specs nung thl syempre..

  12. I have purchased starmobile diamond d2 with serial number 866490001536933 and NTC No. ESD-GEC-1302187 sa Automatic Center Market Market Taguig City and after 6 days sira kaagad, ayaw ng mag-on and everytime na plug mo ang charger umiinit ang unit… this brand and model really sucks at di dapat tankilikin
