A few months ago, Vivo brought in one of their mid-range smartphones, the S1, to the Philippines. While it faced some fierce competition in the market, it was a pretty good start for the S series. Recently, Vivo launched another member of the S series, the S1 Pro. Check it out!
Coming in as the S1’s bigger sibling, the S1 Pro has two colorways, namely Fancy Sky and Knight Black. Our unit here has the latter color, and it looks rather amazing, especially with the red accents all over the device. As with most smartphones, the rear is prone to dust and smudges. It’s recommended to use a case with this handset.
The Vivo S1 Pro sports a 6.38-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, with a waterdrop notch at the top. Residing in the waterdrop notch is the 32MP camera. The bezels surrounding the screen are thin enough, apart from the slightly thicker chin.
On the rear, we also have the S1 Pro’s quadruple-camera setup, consisting of a 48MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP depth, and the 2MP macro lens. Different from other smartphones these days, the S1 Pro’s camera module is diamond-shaped. There’s also a red accent around one of the lenses.
Placed on the right side are the red-colored power button and the volume rocker. They’re quite easy to reach and have some tactility to them.
Located on the left is the hybrid SIM card tray.
Sitting up top is the 3.5mm headphone jack and the secondary microphone.
Taking up space at the bottom are the primary microphone, the USB-C port, and the loudspeaker.
Overall, the S1 Pro is quite thick and hefty, and it can be attributed to the massive 4,500mAh battery under the hood. The S1 Pro also offers 18W dual-engine fast charging and is equipped with a Snapdragon 665 chipset, 8GB RAM, 128GB of storage. We’ll get more into the device as we head on for a full review, so be on the lookout for that.
The Vivo S1 Pro is priced at PHP 15,990USD 272INR 23,099EUR 260CNY 1,984 and will be available for purchase beginning November 30. Preorders start from November 21 to November 29.
