0:02more accessible and more importantly
0:04they're a lot easier to use. Gone are
0:06the days when you needed a big drone to
0:08be able to capture some high quality
0:10videos and even the smaller drones are
0:12now very capable. Just look at the DJI
0:14Neo and Flip we checked out last year
0:17and earlier this year. So this brings us
0:19to the topic of today's video, the DJI
0:22Mini5 Pro. It's not as small as the Neo,
0:25but it's still a very compact drone,
0:28especially when you compare it to the
0:30Mavic 4 Pro we reviewed earlier this
0:32year. Still, if you're considering
0:34picking up a drone, whether as a hobby
0:36or for something a bit more serious, is
0:38the DJI Mini 5 Pro the one to consider?
0:41Well, let's find out in this review.
0:43[music]
0:49>> [music]
0:49>> The DJI Mini 5 Pro isn't that big of a
0:52drone, especially when you compare it to
0:53the Mavic 4 [music] Pro and more so the
0:56Phantom models of before. However, it's
0:58not exactly that mini considering
1:00there's the Neo and the Flip.
1:01Nonetheless, it's still quite compact
1:03and lives up to the name. I could easily
1:05fit this in my backpack without any
1:08issues. But since our unit came with a
1:10carrying [music] bag for all the
1:11batteries, controllers, and accessories,
1:13I decided to put everything in there to
1:15keep it more organized. For reference,
1:17this is the Fly More Combo Pack, which
1:19includes [music] the bag. But if you
1:21don't get it, well, you can still put it
1:22in your backpack, too. But going back to
1:24the drone, it's quite lightweight, too,
1:26weighing only 249.9
1:28g. The body and the shape of the Mini 5
1:30Pro are similar to the Mini 4 Pro. From
1:33its foldable body design to the polymer
1:35[music] construction, well, lightweight
1:37polymer construction, I may add, it
1:39feels very familiar. Even the location
1:41of the modules and the fish eyes and the
1:44rest of the sensors are similar to where
1:45they were on the Mini 4 Pro.
1:47Unfortunately though, so when it starts
1:49to rain, DJI does recommend users return
1:51and land the drone immediately. From our
1:53experience, it can withstand the light
1:55rain, but still, I wouldn't recommend it
1:57because the last thing you want to do is
1:58like break a 40,000 peso drone. So,
2:01while it might feel very familiar with
2:03the [music] Mini4 Pro, the new changes
2:05are the propellers. Instead of a screw
2:08on propeller system, it now uses a quick
2:10release style system, which makes it
2:13easier to replace the propellers should
2:15you [music] unfortunately crash into
2:17objects a lot. So, in the case that you
2:19accidentally do crash this drone into
2:21something, [music] at least it's a lot
2:22easier to replace the propellers. And
2:25the FlyMore combo pack also comes with
2:27extra propellers because [music]
2:29they just know you're going to be
2:30hitting something, especially if you're
2:32a beginner drone flyer. Other cool
2:34features the Mini 5 Pro has is an auto
2:36power on function that powers up the
2:39drone the moment you unfold the arm.
2:41Now, if you've ever flown the DJI Mini
2:43before, you will definitely feel right
2:46at home with the Mini 5 Pro, especially
2:48with how it looks and feels. With the
2:50drone's compact and lightweight size,
2:52you can easily bring it around wherever
2:54[music] you go. So, on the outside, it
2:56might look the same. Instead, the main
2:58upgrade DJI made to the Mini 5 Pro is
3:00the camera. It now uses a full 1 in
3:03SIMOS sensor, which can capture 50
3:05megapixel stills. For video, it can
3:07capture up to 4K at 120 fps or even
3:09[music]
3:10super slow motion at 240fps.
3:13Together with the new camera, the gimbal
3:15also got an upgrade. It's still a
3:18three-axis gimbal with support for
3:19vertical shooting just like before, but
3:21now it features roll rotation, allowing
3:24users to be a bit more creative with the
3:26shots they want to take. [music] And as
3:28expected with the new sensor, the camera
3:30on the Mini 5 Pro captures amazing
3:32photos both in [music] daylight and even
3:34in low light. As part of the FlyMore
3:36combo pack, you also get some ND
3:39filters, [music] which you can quickly
3:41swap out depending on your needs. But to
3:43test it out, these videos were recorded
3:45in 4K at 30fps without the ND [music]
3:48filters installed. And as you can see
3:50from the video, I was able to capture a
3:52great view of the Banawi area at night.
3:54There's a good balance between the
3:55highlights and shadows, and there's
3:57little to no grain even when there's
3:59barely [music] any light source. Now,
4:01even out in the distance, you can make
4:03out the other high-rise buildings around
4:05Metro Manila. It's quite impressive to
4:07see the Manila skyline at night from
4:09[music] this point of view. But of
4:11course, do be careful when you're flying
4:13the drone because you have to remember
4:16you need to know where you're flying. As
4:17you would expect from a 1 in sensor,
4:19it's amazing [music]
4:20during the day. The colors are quite
4:22vivid and almost everything is sharp.
4:24It's more than adequate for your social
4:26media [music] posting. In fact, for some
4:28beginner drone users, the quality might
4:30be a bit overkill, but hey, at least if
4:33you do decide to keep flying this drone,
4:35it will be a worthwhile investment. With
4:37the new sensor, the Mini5 Pro now
4:39features a two times [music] zoom
4:40function as well. It's only a digital
4:43zoom, but if you're using it for social
4:44media to take stills, it won't really be
4:47a problem. It's more than adequate, and
4:49even in low light, you can still get
4:51decent [music] video footage and photos.
4:53But specifically for the photos, when
4:55you pixel peep, you will notice some
4:57artifacting, [music]
4:58but if you're just posting it on social
5:00media, no one's really going to know.
5:01Now, just check out this montage all
5:03shot using the DJI Mini 5 Pro to let the
5:06quality of the video and images speak
5:09for itself.
5:20[music]
5:34>> [music]
5:49[music]
6:01>> Hey,
6:04[music]
6:04hey,
6:10hey.
6:12[music]
6:22Now, if anything, what you do need is a
6:24large capacity micro SD [music] card.
6:26The Mini 5 Pro comes with 42 GB of
6:29internal storage. But if you're planning
6:31on taking a lot of footage, especially
6:33in 4K or even slow-mo, all that space
6:35will be used up quite fast. So, with
6:37that, I highly recommend getting a micro
6:39SD card, something at least 128 GB,
6:41[music]
6:42just to be sure. Now, flying the DJI
6:44Mini 5 Pro is relatively easy, even if
6:47you're just starting out flying a drone.
6:49As mentioned earlier, our unit is the
6:51FlyMore combo package, which comes with
6:53the DJI RC2 remote, which comes with a
6:57digital screen, so you can easily see
7:00everything here. No need to connect your
7:01phone, even if you're taking off from a
7:03somewhat tight area. There are multiple
7:05sensors all around the drone. This makes
7:07it almost impossible to hit objects
7:09[music]
7:09or obstacles when you're flying. The
7:11fisheye cameras at the front give you a
7:13nice clear view of everything. And even
7:15when you're flying in low light
7:16conditions, you can clearly see
7:18everything in front of [music] you
7:19thanks to the upgraded nightcape
7:20sensors. Now, despite having new mounts
7:23for the blades, there's not really a big
7:25difference in terms of the speed the
7:26drone can fly. DJI claims it can fly up
7:29to 80 m/s or roughly 64 km/ [music]
7:32hour in sport mode when weather
7:34conditions are perfect. It also has a
7:36range of up to 20 km and a maximum
7:38takeoff [music] altitude of 6,000 m. But
7:41given my lack of experience flying
7:43drones, I didn't want to crash into a
7:45house or a building here in the metro.
7:47It's a similar story when it comes to
7:49flying a longer distance and flying it
7:51any higher. In fact, there's an auto
7:52takeoff function which I found myself
7:54using almost all [music] the time just
7:56because I don't want to hit anything
7:58when I'm taking off. But again, you do
8:00have to take note of the regulations,
8:02too. The last thing you want is for your
8:04new drone to hit a helicopter, a plane,
8:06or even a house or a person just because
8:08you're sightseeing. That's going to be a
8:10big issue for everyone. But say for
8:13example, you're flying out somewhere in
8:15the province. [music] Thankfully, the
8:16Mini5 Pro can memorize its flight path
8:19automatically, returning it home, even
8:21if the GPS signal becomes [music] weak.
8:24That way, you'll be sure this drone
8:25won't just drop into someone's backyard
8:27or randomly into the forest when,
8:30wherever, [music] and you have to pick
8:31it up. As for the battery, the DJI Mini
8:345 Pro packs a 2788 milliamp battery pack
8:38[music] as standard. If that's too small
8:40for you, there is an optional DJI Mini5
8:42Pro intelligent flight battery plus with
8:45a larger 4,680 milliamp hour capacity.
8:49From our experience with the standard
8:50battery pack, you have around 30 minutes
8:52of battery run time, which isn't far
8:54from DJI's claims of 36 minutes. You
8:57might think that's not long, but we
8:59think it's more than enough. If you get
9:00the Fly More Combo, it comes with two
9:03additional battery packs and a charging
9:05dock, too. The charging dock can be
9:07powered by a capable power bank, meaning
9:08you won't have to worry about losing
9:10juice for your drone wherever you may
9:12be. All in all, the DJI Mini 5 Pro is a
9:15great drone to own. Whether you're a
9:16budding filmmaker or just want to
9:18capture amazing footage from your
9:20adventures all across the country or
9:22even around the world. For all that it
9:24offers, the price isn't that [music]
9:25expensive either. The DJI Mini 5 Pro
9:28retails at 40,690 pesos. [music] If you
9:31want the FlyMore combo like ours, which
9:33includes the more high-end DJI [music]
9:35RC2 remote, extra batteries in the bag,
9:37then that will set you back 57,990
9:40pesos. [music] If you're someone who
9:42enjoys flying drones already and want to
9:44move up from where you are [music] now,
9:46you definitely can't go wrong with the
9:48Mini 5 Pro. However, if you're just
9:50starting out and not sure whether this
9:52drone will eventually become [music] a
9:54very expensive paperweight, I would
9:56recommend sticking to the more
9:57entry-level drones offered by DJI like
9:59the Neo or the Flip. Still, if budget
10:02isn't a problem, you'll definitely enjoy
10:04your first time flying the DJI Mini 5
10:07Pro, capturing moments wherever you may
10:09be. It's got all the safety features to
10:11ensure you won't crash. And at the same
10:13time, the new 1 in sensor is very
10:15capable of taking all [music] of the
10:16footage you want, whether at night or in
10:19daylight. But overall, what do you guys
10:21think of the new DJI Mini5 Pro? [music]
10:23Is this the drone you'll be buying this
10:25coming holiday season, or would you pick
10:27something else [music] to start your
10:29drone adventures? Whatever the case,
