Xiaomi just introduced their budget contenders today in the form of the Redmi 6 and 6A, successors to the Redmi 5 and 5A. Sporting Helio P22 and A22 chipsets these two devices hope to penetrate a very crowded market portion.

First up let’s take a look at the Redmi 6. The device is powered by a 5.45-inch HD+ 18:9 IPS display, MediaTek’s Helio P22 chipset, 3/4GB of RAM, 32/64GB of internal storage, MIUI 10 and a 3,000mAh battery.
For cameras, we have a dual 12MP + 5MP rear and a single 5MP front.

Next up the Redmi 6A. Powering the device is a 5.45-inch HD+ 18:9 display, MediaTek’s A22 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a 3,000mAh battery. Noticeably absent from the phone is a fingerprint scanner, luckily it has facial recognition.
For cameras, we have a single 13MP rear and single 5MP front.

The Redmi 6 is priced at CNY 799 (~Php 6,611) for the 3/32GB variant and CNY 999 (~Php 8,266) for the 4/64GB one. The Redmi 6A, on the other hand, has a price tag of CNY 599 (~Php 4,956). Both phones will go on sale in China on June 15. Local pricing and availability are yet to be announced.
