Acer Predator Connect X5 5G CPE Router, D5 5G Dongle now official

Aside from the new Predator gaming laptops, Acer also introduced its 5G devices to allow gamers to take advantage of 5G connectivity in their area, the Acer Predator Connect X5 5G CPU Router and the Acer Predator Connect D5 5G Dongle.

Acer says that the Predator Connect X5 5G CPE is the first Intel Killer-compatible 5G CPE in the world, capable of delivering speeds of up to 4.7 Gbps. The 5G CPE is also designed for gamers with its dedicated onboard GAME LAN Port for fast throughput. It can also connect up to 256 devices via WiFi 6 and features Intel Killer Prioritization engine so I it can automatically detect and adjust optimal prioritization settings for many games, apps, and websites.

It also features Intel Killer Control Center so administrators can fine-tune their data downlink and uplink speeds based on their priority preferences, assigning some applications higher network precedence than others. Furthermore, there’s Predator Connection Manager to help monitor and adjust 5G data usage based on their needs, and integrated Trend Micro Home Network Security to monitor and protect network traffic.

The Acer Predator Connect X5 5G CPE Router is powered by a quad-core 2.0GHz ARM Cortex processor with 1GB DDR4 and 1GB Flash memory and is equipped with a standard LAN port, one WAN port, USB, a SIM card port, a set of Main and Div TS-9 Antenna ports, WPS for added security, and onboard USB port for attaching external storage drives.

Next, is the Predator Connection D5 5G Dongle, an accessory that connects to your gaming laptop’s USB 3.1 Type-C port and uses its built-in Intel Killer Network Solution. Aside from providing 5G speeds, it also enables the laptop to be used as a 5G WiFi hotspot and features active cooling at up to 10,000 RPM. The dongle also prioritizes bandwidth allocation and latency reduction to improve the gaming experience.

More technically inclined users can utilize the Predator Connection Manager to monitor network connections and modify throughput to suit their needs, and the dongle can be used with Intel Killer DoubleShot Pro for dual connectivity.

The pricing and availability of the Predator Connect X5 5G CPE Router and Predator D5 5G Dongle are yet to be announced.
