Listen to article

Adobe has confirmed that Adobe Animate will no longer be available for download to new customers starting March 1, 2026.

Formerly known as Flash, Adobe has announced that Adobe Animate will not be available for download starting March 1.

“Animate has been a product that has existed for over 25 years and has served its purpose well for creating, nurturing, and developing the animation ecosystem. As technologies evolve, new platforms and paradigms emerge that better serve the needs of the users,” the brand states on their Animate End of Life FAQs page.

While new users will no longer be able to access the software after this date, existing customers will still be supported for a limited period.

For non-enterprise users, Adobe will continue to provide application access, technical support and the ability to download existing content until March 1, 2027. Meanwhile, enterprise customers will receive extended support until March 1, 2029.

The brand recommends users to turn to Adobe After Effects for complex keyframe animations and Adobe Express for one-click animation effects.
