Adobe launches Project Indigo camera app

Listen to article

Adobe has launched a new camera app this month called Project Indigo earlier this month. It was created by former Google Pixel camera engineers.

Adobe launches Project Indigo, their own take on a camera application. This was created by Marc Levoy and Florian Kainz, former engineers behind Google Pixel’s own cameras.

On the official announcement post, the app is said to “offers full manual controls, a more natural (“SLR-like”) look, and the highest image quality that computational photography can provide – in both JPEG and raw formats. It also introduces some new photographic experiences not available in other camera apps.”

The engineers have stated on the post: “Our hope is that Indigo will appeal to casual mobile photographers who want a natural SLR-like look for their photos, including when viewed on large screens; to advanced photographers who want manual control and the highest possible image quality; and to anyone – casual or serious – who enjoys playing with new photographic experiences.”

Project Indigo is currently only available for Apple users, but the developers have stated that there will be an Android version soon.
