AI workforce upskilling leads PBBM-PSAC discussions

Listen to article

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. met with the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) to discuss ways to protect Filipino jobs as tensions in the Middle East continue to affect fuel prices, supply chains, and employment.

PSAC proposed faster job matching, workforce redeployment, and expanded job fairs to help workers who may be displaced. The organization recommended restarting infrastructure and school projects to create additional employment opportunities while maintaining its financial support to PUV operators and digital cash aid distribution.

The main proposal of the project involved AI Upskilling para sa Digital Asenso (AIUDA), which operated as a quick-training program that equipped workers with the necessary skills for digital professions in data annotation, virtual assistance, analytics, and online entrepreneurship.

The council also pushed for stronger digital infrastructure to support remote work and improve long-term workforce resilience.
