Listen to article

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has teamed up with SM Supermalls to help senior high school (SHS) students gain real-world digital skills through a new Job Opportunities Building Skills (JOBS) Immersion Program.
Launched in Quezon City, the program lets students train in fast-growing industries like IT, e-commerce, hospitality, manufacturing, and the creative sector. DICT Secretary Henry Aguda said the initiative will prepare the youth for jobs in the digital economy.

The partnership also supports DICT’s “Trabahong Digital” program, which aims to create 8 million digital jobs by 2028. Students will learn skills for freelancing, online services, and tech-based careers.

As part of the launch, DICT unveiled Digital Corner learning booths that teach digital literacy, coding, cybersecurity, and online entrepreneurship. These will appear in upcoming JOBS fairs and immersion events across the country.
