President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has signed the E-Governance Act into law 15, requiring government agencies to digitize processes and services online.

The law mandates digital transformation across national agencies, local government units, state universities, and embassies abroad. The goal is for Filipinos to process permits, payments, and other services through the internet instead of visiting physical offices.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) will lead the implementation. A dedicated management office will be created within 12 months to oversee the transition and ensure projects follow a unified plan.
Among the initiatives include a one-stop online portal for essential government services, a standardized system for LGU transactions, and secure digital payment options. The law also orders the creation of a national digital health network to improve access to medical services.
To protect citizens, the law enforces strict data privacy measures. Agencies are required to conduct regular privacy audits and comply with global cybersecurity standards to safeguard personal information.
