Just got confirmation that Alcatel’s very affordable yet capable smartphone, the Alcatel Flash Plus, is set for release in the Philippines by May 1, 2015 with a price tag of around Php6k.

Launched in China earlier under a different name for $RMB899 (Php6,300), the Flash Plus is positioned to be a very powerful and capable entry-level handset.

Among the highlights of the device is the dual-SIM, dual-LTE capability, the Sony sensor and the large battery capacity. With a possible price tag of a little over Php6k, the Flash Plus looks like a really good deal.

Sir abe had a little chat with alcatel execs and they said it would be priced at 6990. With that price this is the phone to beat along with skk’s lynx. Its kinda nice you know. Things will be heating up in a couple of weeks. :)

ma add ko lang po that Mediatek MT6752M as far from my research is a 64bit cpu a downgraded version of Mediatek MT6752 which is a 64bit also correct me if im wrong

Yes. Alcatel na po ang may sabi sa YugaTech na below Php 6999 ang presyo niyan. Think positive na ganun nga expected price. :)

That’s it! my unabashed hatred for Alcatel has officially gone out the window hihihi! Now there’s only Sony, Oppo and Starmobile left.

Anyhoo I’m planning to buy another phone next week. Looks like I’m stuck with Zenfone 5. That or waiting. Ayoko na rin ng local brands. Puro palpak at nakakairita na ang kabobohan ng mga Pinoy sa FB groups.

@Dredd I don’t care much about aesthetics. As long as it delivers well on performance its fine by me. Yes the flash plus may look generic but if it can outgun or at least be at par with more expensive phones, this will be a hit. As for you dumbass, go buy yourself an iphone or an htc.

Excited pa naman ako sa Asus Zenfone 2 at Meizu M1 Note. Medyo mababa lang yung resolution niya considering 5.5 inch @ 267 PPI. Pero panalo yung front camera niya.

This tightens up the competition a notch. Kudos sa asus, meizu, xiaomi at ngayon alcatel. :) sa samsung, oppo at local brands up your game naman or get left behind.

For me, yes. Kasi same specs lang sila ng TCL M2U. Iibahin nila ang pangalan internationally. Dati kasing nasa Alcatel ang TCL. :)

Kung 6k lang ito ibig sabihin mura din ang Alcatel Idol 3 series na 4.7 at 5.5 nila. Binigla nila ang mga naghihintay ng Zenfone 2. Iiyak na lang ang Oppo dahil mas dumami ang kalaban ng overpriced phones nila.

TCL bought Alcatel many years back. TCL is the more popular brand in China but Alcatel is the more popular brand globally. Thus, the different naming conventions used.

XIAOMI MI4, Huawei Ascend P7, Smartisan T1, Oneplus One Smartphone, OPPO Find 7, OPPO R1S and VIVO Xshot, OPPO N1 Mini, Huawei Honor 6, Nubia Z7, Nubia Z7 Max, Nubia Z7 Mini, etc.
