Amazon brings Alexa+ to the web

Listen to article

Amazon has given Alexa+ a new place to live online. The AI-powered assistant can now be accessed through alexa.com, as long as users sign in with their Amazon account and are part of the Alexa+ Early Access program.

According to Amazon, more than 10 million people are already using Alexa+, and they are chatting with it three times more than they did with the original Alexa. The company also says 97% of Alexa-supported devices are now compatible with Alexa+.

On the web and in the updated mobile app, Alexa+ works like a chatbot, similar to ChatGPT or Google Gemini. Users can upload documents, emails, and calendars, and Alexa+ can reference them when answering questions.

Amazon says Alexa+ stands out by focusing on family and home tasks, like controlling smart devices, managing schedules, shopping for groceries, and planning activities, all within the Amazon ecosystem.
