Amazon has given Alexa+ a new place to live online. The AI-powered assistant can now be accessed through alexa.com, as long as users sign in with their Amazon account and are part of the Alexa+ Early Access program. According to Amazon, more than 10 million people are already using Alexa+, and they are chatting with it three times more than they did with the original Alexa. Amazon says Alexa+ stands out by focusing on family and home tasks, like controlling smart devices, managing schedules, shopping for groceries, and planning activities, all within the Amazon ecosystem. Amazon has refreshed its Kindle Scribe series, unveiling a redesigned model with front light, a budget version without one, and the first-ever Kindle Scribe Colorsoft. The highlight is the Colorsoft model, which introduces Amazon’s new color display technology for soft, eye-friendly tones and a new rendering engine for richer visuals, while still delivering weeks of battery life. Amazon is also rolling out new AI tools like Story So Far (spoiler-free summaries) and Ask this Book (answers based on highlights), coming to Kindle devices and the iOS app. Amazon is adding a monthly subscription fee for Alexa soon.
