Apple has announced its latest update to Apple Podcasts. It will introduce video podcast support starting this spring.

Apple Podcasts will have videos in them this spring. The new feature uses Apple’s HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) technology to deliver video playback across different networks.
With this, users can switch between listening and watching podcasts within the app.
Video episodes can be viewed in full screen landscape mode, downloaded for offline viewing and will automatically adjust quality based on Wi-Fi or cellular connections. Video podcasts will also appear in recommendations, category pages and editorial sections alongside audio podcasts.
Podcast creators will manage their own content and monetization through supported hosting platforms with options for dynamic video ads.
HLS video is available for testing in beta versions of iOS 26.4, iPadOS 26.4, and visionOS 26.4. Apple’s podcast catalog is available across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, CarPlay, Vision Pro and on their website.
