Apple in partnership with Baidu for AI integrations in China

Listen to article

Apple is in partnership with Baidu to integrate its AI technology into iPhones in China.

With this, Baidu’s AI services are set to be exclusively available on Apple devices in the country starting with the anticipated iOS 18 release this year.

The collaboration is a significant move for both companies. Apple is seeking to enhance its offerings in the Chinese market, where regulations surrounding AI technology are stringent.

Baidu’s Ernie Bot, one of the approved large language models (LLMs) in China, has been chosen by Apple over other potential partners.

As for Baidu, this is a major win for the company that positions them and their AI product at a prominent place in the Chinese market.

Baidu CEO Robin Li anticipates a substantial increase in revenue from their AI technologies, largely driven by this collaboration with Apple through iPhones in China.
