Apple has introduced a new 15-inch MacBook Air at their 2023 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) held in Cupertino, California.
It features a 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display and Apple’s M2 processor.
The M2 in the MacBook Air will have an 8-core CPU, 10-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. It can also come with up to 24GB of RAM. Apple says the M2 allows the Air to provide up to 18 hours of battery life.
The 15-inch MacBook Air will be 11.5mm thin and 3.3 pounds in weight. Apple also says that with the M2 processor, the Air runs completely fanless and silent.
For ports, the new MacBook Air will come with MagSafe charging, two Thunderbolt ports, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
It will also have a 1080p FaceTime HD Camera and a new six-speaker sound system that includes two tweeters and two sets of force-canceling woofers — which Apple says will deliver immersive Spatial Audio, more bass, and a fuller overall sound.
The new MacBook Air will come in four colors: Starlight, Space Gray, Silver, and Midnight.
The 15-inch MacBook Air will be priced at USD $1299 and USD $1199 for education. The laptop will arrive at store shelves and Apple Authorized Resellers starting June 13.
In the Philippines, the new 15-inch MacBook Air will start at a price of Php 82,990 for the 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD version, and Php 94,990 for the 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD variant.
