Earlier this year, Apple announced that they have plans to create the said new feature for the iPhone. It won’t require any new hardware and it’ll allow users to do the contactless payment, either credit or debit, between two iPhones (starting iPhone XS onwards) through Apple Pay.

Based on the video, the process of Tap to Pay seems seamless, it’ll just take a few seconds for the money transfer between the two iPhones within close range of each other. A blue tick on the iPhone’s screen and a long pinging sound will be heard which confirms that the transaction was successful.
