The new Tap to Pay feature for iPhones was seen in action at the Apple Park Visitor Center in Cupertino, California. It won’t require any new hardware and it’ll allow users to do the contactless payment, either credit or debit, between two iPhones (starting iPhone XS onwards) through Apple Pay. Based on the video, the process of Tap to Pay seems seamless, it’ll just take a few seconds for the money transfer between the two iPhones within close range of each other. No announcements yet from Apple on when is the release of Tap to Pay to their devices but the footage confirms that it’s been used or tested at the Apple Park. Apple has announced plans to introduce a new Tap to Pay on iPhone feature that will allow compatible iPhones to act as payment terminals via Apple Pay. This new capability will allow merchants to use their iPhone to securely accept Apple Pay, contactless credit and debit cards, and other digital wallets through a simple tap to their iPhone. Tap to Pay on iPhone will be available for payment platforms and app developers to integrate into their iOS apps and offer as a payment option to their business customers.
