The handheld PC market is becoming bigger and ever more competitive. To compete with the ever-popular Steam Deck and its many competitors, ASUS revealed its up-and-coming handheld gaming unit – the ROG Ally.

At the moment, ASUS has shared little details about the ROG Ally. The company does claim to “bring true PC performance to your life on the go”. What we do know is that the system will run Windows 11 and use a custom AMD Ryzen chipset. There’s also a dual fan design to keep things cool while you game.

In addition, the buttons on the ROG Ally can be remapped to your liking. You can even plug in an external GPU. Like the Steam Deck and other handheld gaming consoles, users can cast it onto TVs as well. Unlike the Steam Deck though, which runs games in your Steam library, we suspect the ROG Ally could run any game that its hardware can handle.

There’s no word yet on pricing at the moment, but you can sign up for an alert via the ASUS official website. We do expect it to be around the same price or possibly be even more expensive than the Steam Deck. For reference, prices of the Steam Deck in the Philippines start at around PHP 28,950.

We hope ASUS Philippines brings it into the country once it’s officially launched.
