Birdshot makes its way to Netflix on March 26

Another Filipino made media content, Birdshot, lands on Netflix. The news came days after TV5 made their partnership with Netflix official, which led to the online streaming platform’s right to air “AMO” (a mini series about President Duterte’s war on drugs).

Birdshot will start streaming on Netflix on March 26. The film follows the story of Maya, a 14-year old girl living with her father in the outskirts of a sanctuary for the endangered Philippine Eagle. Events suddenly unfold when Maya mistakenly shoots one of the endangered birds. The film won Best Film in the Asian Future Tokyo Film Fest 2016 and is also the country’s official entry into the 90th Academy Awards under the Best Foreign Language Film Category.

With “AMO” slated for an April 9th airing, Birdshot now takes the spot as the first Filipino made content to arrive on the famous online streaming platform.
