Bose intros three new Frames audio sunglasses

Bose unveiled its latest Frames audio sunglasses that incorporate the functionality of premium headphones in a sunglass, the Frames Tempo, Tenor, and Soprano.

The new Frames Tempo is designed specifically for outdoor activities such as biking, running, and climbing. The Tempo is made from TR90 and it is durable, lightweight, and flexible for extreme temperatures and training. It is equipped with custom-designed spring hinges and TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) temple tips for its stability around the head. The nose pads come in three shapes for the right amount of grip for it will not slip down the face. This is recommended for marathons and triathlons, on the water, off-road, or at high speeds down steep declines. It is also equipped with a 22 mm full-range driver for its acoustics which is embedded in each temple to play deeper and louder sound while still being able to hear traffic, warnings, training partners, and teammates around.

The Frames Tempo can fit under most protective helmets with resistance against sweat, weather, scratch, and shatter. It has up to 8 hours of battery life and it can be charged through a standard USB-C charging cable. The lenses are polycarbonate with a visible light transmission of 12%. Optional lenses are also available: Road Orange has a 20% VLT medium-light lens to reduce glare from reflective surfaces like water and snow, Trail Blue has a 28% VLT low-light lens to increase contrast and definition in bright-sun conditions while the Twilight Yellow has a 77% VLT very low-light lens for use at dusk.

On the other hand, the Frames Tenor and Soprano are made for everyday use with its improved style, design, and acoustics. The tenor has a smaller, square style while the Soprano looks like a subtle cat-eye. Both Tenor and Soprano are scratch and shatter-resistant. It is equipped with a battery life of 5.5 hours and it can be charged through a custom pogo-pin charger. Their lenses can be easily changed with different color options which are Mirrored Blue and Silver for Tenor while there are Rose Gold and Purple-fade for Soprano.

In addition, the Tempo, Tenor, and Soprano sport polarized lenses that block up to 99% of UV rays fit for outdoor sports and daily wear. Their wafer-thin Bose systems are discreetly attached in each arm without extra parts. It has less than 50 grams added to its weight. These three new Frames feature Bose Open Ear AudioTM technology and the Bose speaker systems. This innovation makes the mobile audio come from the eyewear.

The Frames can also be connected wirelessly to your smartphones to stream music, take or make calls as well as use it as a personal assistant.

The Frames Tempo, Tenor, and Soprano are priced at USD 249 each. The new Frames are prescription-ready and can be purchased through Bose and its select partners.
