Canva adds new features including Offline Editing

Listen to article

Canva has introduced new features at its Canva Create 2026 event, including Canva Offline, a tool that lets users create and edit designs without an internet connection.

The new offline feature allows users to open files, edit designs, and use local images even when they are not connected to the internet. Once the connection returns, all changes will sync automatically. Canva said this update answers one of the most common requests from users.

The company also expanded its tools for professional users. A new Canva Brand System is now available inside Affinity, allowing designers to create brand assets and sync them to Canva. An AI connector powered by Claude was also added to help automate tasks like editing and print preparation.

For creative professionals, Canva made its motion design tool Cavalry free to use. It also improved file support, allowing Affinity files to work with apps like Capture One and DaVinci Resolve.

Canva also launched Learn Grid, a feature for teachers that can create classroom materials using AI in different languages. Another feature, Print Shop, allows users to design and order printed products directly within the platform.

The company said these updates aim to make design tools easier to use for more people.
