CES 2025: ASUS ROG Flow Z13 Returns for 2025 with Big Upgrades

Following the announcement of its 2025 Zephyrus G series and Strix gaming laptops, ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has also revealed the 2025 ROG Flow Z13, its premium gaming tablet designed for gamers and creators.

Building on the success of its predecessors, the Flow Z13 delivers massive improvements in performance, cooling, and versatility, making it a standout from previous generation.

The Flow Z13 now features AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processors paired with Radeon 8060S Graphics, bringing chiplet-based architecture and RDNA 3.5 graphics cores to a gaming tablet for the first time.

This said to enables desktop-level performance in a lightweight form factor while also offering improved power efficiency.

Compared to the previous Flow Z13, which featured Intel processors and NVIDIA graphics, the 2025 model shifts to AMD’s unified architecture for significant gains in memory management and power efficiency.

While the 2023 model had a limited 16GB RAM configuration, the new Z13 supports up to 128GB of LPDDR5X RAM at 8000MHz in a quad-channel setup, allowing for dynamic allocation of memory between the CPU and GPU.

This gives the Z13 an edge in memory-intensive tasks like running 70B large language models locally, something unheard of in a tablet-sized gaming device.

Cooling has also received a major upgrade.

The stainless steel and copper vapor chamber now provides 54% more coverage, and dual 2nd Gen Arc Flow Fans push 70% more airflow than before.

The redesign also introduces a custom cooling channel behind the display to reduce surface temperatures during prolonged use.

The Z13 retains its 13-inch form factor but now features a 2.5K Nebula Display with a 180Hz refresh rate and 500 nits brightness.

This display boasts 100% DCI-P3 coverage and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, making it ideal for gaming, media creation, and content consumption.

Despite its compact size, the Flow Z13 includes dual USB4 ports, a dedicated HDMI 2.1 port, a USB-A port, and a microSD card reader—a significant upgrade from its predecessor.

Gamers can connect multiple peripherals without relying on dongles.

The 70Wh battery, combined with the power efficiency of AMD’s architecture, promises longer battery life than the 2023 model.

ROG Flow Z13 (2025) specs:
13-inch 2.5K Nebula Display @ 180Hz
500 nits brightness, 100% DCI-P3, Corning Gorilla Glass 5
AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor (16-core Zen 5)
