The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) advised the public to create and use separate accounts when using AI platforms.
The CICC also urges the public to avoid using personal accounts when using AI tools. This was delivered by CICC higher-up Mary Rose Magsaysay during a public briefing on PTV’s Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon segment.
She suggested that AI users should set up another account that isn’t linked to personal or work emails. She also noted that people should make a specific account for AI platforms.
Magsaysay emphasized the risk of breaches, with work email addresses in particular. She noted that people are giving away their information, and that sometimes AI is free but we’re the product.
However, she highlighted the diverse applications of AI. She said that after observing numerous AI-powered solutions, there are a handful of uses available. This ranges from cooking recipes, data classification, and even programming in Python.
In addition, the CICC cautions users about using AI image alteration programs on social media. These often come with a cybercrime risks, and we should work to lessen the potential damage this might cause.
Lastly, she advised the public to use a cellphone number exclusive for these purposes.
