Disney+ announces Verts vertical video feature

Listen to article

Disney+ has unveiled Verts, a vertical video feature to help users discover more content.

Available to U.S. subscribers, Verts appears as a new icon in the app’s navigation bar.

Tapping it opens a vertical feed where users can swipe through short scenes and highlights from movies and shows available on Disney+. From there, users can add titles to their Watchlist or jump directly into full playback.

The brand states that the feature uses a recommendation algorithm to personalize the feed for each user.

The goal is to make it faster for viewers to find something to watch from Disney’s catalog.

The current release focuses on content discovery, but Disney says Verts could expand in the future to include creator content, new storytelling formats and more personalized experiences within the app.

There’s no news on when this will become a global rollout just yet.
