DIZO, which is the sub-brand under the realme TechLife ecosystem, has launched its latest TWS earbuds, the DIZO Buds Z together with GoPods Neo, DIZO Wireless, and the GoPods D. In this article we will talk about the DIZO Buds Z, so if you want to know more about it, just keep on reading.
Checking out the design, it’s small enough to carry around in your pocket. The DIZO Buds Z comes in a pebble-shaped charging case made of plastic with a matte finish and it is available in Onyx, Leaf and Pearl colorway.
The case features an LED indicator on the front and a USB Type-C port for charging at the bottom.
Open the case, you will find the earbuds and it has an eye-catching design. It has a stem design and features a glossy finish. It also has a lovely iridescent finish that makes these buds stand out, the company calls it “Natural Light”.
The earbuds are IPX4 water-resistant also, so they can easily withstand sweat or light splashes of water, making them suitable to use when exercising.
Additionally, the magnets inside that hold the buds are extremely strong and the buds stay put even when you shake the case with force.
The earbuds fit surprisingly well in the ear and with a weight of just 3.7 grams, even with continuous usage over a couple of hours it did not feel uncomfortable in the ears.
Pairing is pretty straightforward. Upon opening the case, the earphones are already ready for pairing using Bluetooth 5.0. All you need to do is open your smartphone’s Bluetooth settings and tap on the Buds Z. You can also pair the earbuds with the Realme Link app and adjust the audio quality for an increased volume, bass or even switch to the Game mode for low latency.
The Buds Z features touch controls, double-tap to Play/Pause music or can be used for answering and ending calls, triple-tap to play next song, then long press for 2 seconds for reject call and press both earphones simultaneously for 2 seconds to activate/deactivate Game Mode. However, the experience was not as smooth as we wanted.
In terms of audio quality, the first thing you would notice with the realme Buds Z is the amount of bass involved, especially once you get a snug fit with its silicone buds. In some earphones we have to tune our devices to amp up the bass but some might even prefer doing the opposite with this device. Mids and Highs are not as strong as the bass, but are just enough to provide the oomph that you want.
The built-in ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) feature works well at keeping ambient sounds at bay for the person at the other end of the call.
When it comes to the battery, DIZO claims that the 43mAh battery capacity on each earbud combined with the charging case offers a battery life of 16 hours.
The DIZO Buds Z is definitely a head-turner for its design and for its price of PHP 1,499USD 26INR 2,165EUR 24CNY 186, you get a decent sound quality even if the sound profile leans towards the bass and sufficient noise cancellation. DIZO products will be available under the DIZO Philippines Official Store on Lazada.
