With a vision to slowly improve transportations services within Metro Manila, the Department of Transportation and Communications introduces new buses for the point-to-point (P2P) bus service that will have a low floor height with its hydraulic kneeling function and a retractable boarding and alighting ramp for PWDs.

Like other P2P buses, the new buses will also have GPS, CCTV and free Wi-Fi onboard. Interestingly, it’s also listed to have a tap-and-go payment scheme, like the Beep card of MRT/LRT, but we still don’t have concrete news regarding the expansion of the said system to city buses.

This is a good news not only to PWD’s but to all people that has a hard time getting on the bus dahil sa taas ng mga steps ng boarding nila. Dapat not only to P2P, they should implement this to all private bus company. Ang tagal na nilang kumita sa mga pasahero so dapat ibigay naman nila ang convenience sa pagsakay pa lang.

Gawin p2p lahat ng bus. Matuto maglakad and maging on time mga pinoy. Pati jeep bawasan na.

I like the simplicity of this suggestion. Its time to bite the bullet and admit that the old transport system is no longer viable.

Can I just point out that they’re using a German MAN bus, and those buses are so pricey not even the biggest provincial bus operators use a lot of them, resorting to either Korean Hyundai or locally assembled buses. What an inefficient use of money…

Yes they are pricey, but as long as operator payed for it and not the government, I don’t think there’s any more reason to worry.
