Dynabook Portégé Z40L-N Now Official, laptop with a replaceable battery

Dynabook has unveiled the Portégé Z40L-N, a premium business laptop featuring a 14-inch 1920 x 1200 display, Intel Core Ultra 7 268V processor, up to 32GB RAM, and 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD storage.

A user-replaceable 65Wh battery. While it’s not hot-swappable, removing a bottom panel allows users to replace it, extending the device’s lifespan—something rare in today’s thin-and-light laptops.

Weighing less than 1kg (2.2 lbs), the magnesium-aluminum chassis ensures durability while keeping it ultra-light. The laptop also meets MIL-STD-810H standards, proving its resilience against drops, shocks, and extreme conditions.

The Portégé Z40L-N is powered by Intel Core Ultra 5 and Ultra 7 processors, with 16GB or 32GB of onboard RAM. While the memory is not upgradeable, users can swap out the SSD (up to 2TB PCIe NVMe).

Ports include:
2 x Thunderbolt 4
2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
1 x Gigabit Ethernet (Intel i1219)
1 x 3.5mm audio jack
1 x microSD card reader

Other features include a 5MP IR webcam with face recognition, WiFi 7, Bluetooth, and a spill-resistant backlit keyboard.

Pricing & Availability

The Dynabook Portégé Z40L-N is now available, with pre-configured models starting at $1,699 (~PHP 97,200). It also comes with at least a 3-year warranty.

Custom configurations can be ordered via us.dynabook.com. Dynabook, known for its enterprise focus since separating from Toshiba in 2015, is also selling Tecra, Satellite Pro, and Portégé laptops directly to consumers at shop.us.dynabook.com.
